May 2017 County Council Election

Ian Roberts achieved an excellent result in St Annes South division, gaining 9.4% of the vote, doubling the previous 2013 figures. In St Annes South Christine Tootill almost doubled the Green vote with a proportion of votes cast just over 5%. In Lytham Duncan Royle faced a difficult contest, against six opponents, but still achieved a creditable number of votes.

Our decision (taken unilaterally) not to stand in the three Fylde divisions (West, East and South) was justified when in West and East the two Independent sitting councillors retained their seats, providing a strong local anti-fracking voice in what was otherwise a disappointing overall win for the Conservatives.
